Align the clutches according to manufacturer s specifications and clean the sheaves with a warm soapy water and let it air dry to remove all residues.
Perform two heat cycles in 20 miles.Low speed Conservatively run through the entire shift range, without exceedingthrottle. Bring the belt back to normal operating temperature (15 minutes) then shut down and completely cool the belt for 30 minutes. Repeat the process.This will ensure the belt gets seated properly.
NOTE:
1. Do not flip the belt inside out. Please turn off the power first, remove the protective cover in order, remove the motor assembly bolts, move the motor to loosen the belt, and finally remove the old belt.
2. BREAK-IN PERIOD IS ESSENTIAL for your new Drive Belt to ensure longer life and better performance. The goal of the break-in period is to properly wear in the belt to match the sheaves before applying maximum engine torque.
3. During the first 30 miles (50 kms), please do not exceed the speed of 50 miles/hour(80 kms/hour)while riding. We also recommend keeping the engine throttle below 50% and using low gear(if available)for first 50 miles(80 kms).
4. Avoid or limit aggressive hill climbs or heavy loads to ensure that your new belt has enough time to shape properly to your machine clutch sheaves, ultimately maximizing belt-to-sheave grip and maximize belt life.
